IMPACT & SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTING

IMPACT & SOCIALLY RESPONSIBLE INVESTING

We conduct our own independent research and due diligence to source unique public and private socially responsible investing opportunities. We focus our attention on those investments that we believe will provide sustainable financial returns and measurable social impact over time.

Private Impact Investing

Preservation of capital is the cornerstone of all investment activity at Reynders, McVeigh. When it comes to impact investing, our approach is no different. We prefer investment models that prioritize capital preservation and emphasize return of capital. Our desire is to see your impact principal returned to you so it can be “recycled” to make a difference again and again, creating leveraged community, environmental, and/or social impact.

We have a long history of designing, building, and funding impact investments across a wide range of geographies and industries, from investments in renewable energy to affordable housing, and others. Our specific approach encourages participation from a variety of funding entities including private investors, businesses, foundations, and endowments to create a community energized to solve pressing social issues by creating new models for allocating capital.

Socially Responsible Investing

Our approach does not subscribe to the traditional socially responsible investing paradigm that relies on nothing more than negative screening, excluding so-called sin stocks and imagining that the remnant portfolio is somehow good enough. Instead, we seek to screen-in companies that prioritize strong balance sheets and transparency, and that have stable, forward-thinking managements. Our socially responsible investing strategy seeks to invest in companies that conduct business in a responsible way and consider all stakeholders – including employees, customers, the communities in which they operate, and the planet as a whole.

Shareholder Engagement

Being an active investor is in your best interest. It is our responsibility to encourage the companies in which we invest to demonstrate exemplary corporate behavior and meet ESG thresholds that are inherent to delivering value. Through engagement, we work with companies that are providing solutions for the benefit of all stakeholders. We take our responsibility as an active owner seriously and believe that when companies take a long-term approach to identifying innovations and managing risks, financial returns follow.
